    Double Regal Poker

Poker is a casino game that’s been mixed up more than any other. There are countless ways to play it and you can find poker in every kind of flavour to suit your tastes. Life would get boring if you were forced to play the same old poker games every single day, so if nothing else games like Double Regal Poker provide a welcome change from whatever poker you’ve been playing up until now. This is a game that doesn’t set new benchmarks for graphics, but then few of these games do.

While video slots and scratch cards continue to innovate in terms of animations, three dimensional graphics and all the rest, video poker is a medium which has remained stubbornly resistant to change. This isn’t all bad though, for there’s a case for saying that you don’t need snazzy graphics slowing things down when all you wanna do is lay down some cards and win some money. If your poker’s on point, there’s no reason why you can’t prosper with this game, for it boasts a respectable RTP of 97.22%.

    Feeling Flush

Spin Games are a developer of few words, describing their royal-tinged game as being “Classic Poker with Double Regal Paytable. The game uses one 52 card deck.” The US firm, who are based in Reno, were founded in 2012 and have gone on to release a string of slots as well as keno, bingo and video poker games. The half dozen or so poker games they’ve released to date all share the same cheap looking typography, a kind that’s reminiscent of a cigarette packet from about 20 years ago.

The graphics might not be sophisticated, but if nothing else at least it’s all cleanly laid out making Double Regal Poker easy to dive into without needing to hunt around for controls. Everything you need is set out below the board, including a menu where you can toggle the sound on or off, enable turbo mode if you’re in a hurry and access a playing guide if you’re unsure what to do. Presumably you already have some sort of knowledge of playing video poker, but if you don’t a slider allows you to scroll through a series of bullet points detailing exactly what needs to be done.

    Aces High

Players who already have a good working knowledge of poker won’t need to mess around, for the values of the poker hands is clearly displayed above the five cards that are laid out, face down, waiting for you to draw. Four 2s, 3s and 4s are worth 80 coins, four aces will earn you 160, a straight flush is worth 50 and a royal flush will pocket you a nice 250 coins. When it comes to adjusting your bet, you can either click on the Max Bet button or, if you’d prefer to exercise more control, you can click on the level and denomination buttons. The highest level you can go to is 5 and the highest denomination stands at 0.25.

Starting play is simply a case of clicking on the Deal button or pushing spacebar. Once that’s done, you’ll automatically be dealt 5 cards. Take a look at them and decide which ones you want to hold and which you wish to ditch. The cards you wish to discard will be removed from play, at which point you can pay closer attention to the ones left behind. Push spacebar or press Draw to deal a second card and then repeat again as desired. With the paytable clearly displayed above the cards, it’s easy to make decisions on the fly, swiftly identifying the most valuable hands you can potentially form from the cards you’ve been dealt.

    Double Regal Poker in Summary

Double Regal Poker is one of these games that isn’t going to win any awards for invention or groundbreaking graphics, but it’s nevertheless an effective video poker title. Lightweight, mobile-compatible and easy to pick up, it’s the sort of game that requires little by way of introduction. Designed for Android and iPhone users in particular, Double Regal Poker doesn’t try to reinvent the game of poker: instead it simply presents a basic take on the classic game. You know exactly what you’re getting here, and short of adjusting the bet level, audio and turbo, there’s nothing to do but crack on and see how many coins you can win with your poker knowledge and just a dash of luck.
